What is earthling news?
Hi, I’m Mona. I’ve been a science journalist for about four years now and, to put it simply, I believe thinking about our universe on both cosmic and miniscule scales can lead us to refine our internal identity. And I think anyone can do it. You don’t need to know ultra complex math to visualize general relativity and you don’t need a lesson in quantum mechanics to have an opinion on whether the universe is deterministic.
At earthling news, my goal is to provide a little recap, essay or explainer on something happening in the field of science that can spark a bit of scientific inspiration for the day. It might be something trippy, something beautiful or something crucial. Maybe all three (often all three.)
And if you’re wondering about the name, I will offer you this: One day, if intergalactic travel comes to fruition and a human travels to a strange new world and sees the familiar face of a golden retriever, would they think of him as simply a dog? Or, feel a pinch of comfort because he’s a fellow earthling?
Subscribe (for free) to get full access to earthling news, where you’ll get a weekly-ish update on what’s happening around the universe — on Earth, on Jupiter, in our neighboring galaxy, Andromeda, and sometimes even at the edge of all we know.
